Patrick Ikimire

Patrick specializes in the registration and protection of trademarks, service marks, collective marks, certification marks, industrial designs, patents, utility models and plant breeder’s rights locally and/or regionally at ARIPO including advising on international protection at the WIPO level.

He also advises on image rights, domain names, transgenic materials (GMOS), local law regulatory and other compliance of digital media e-platforms, licensing and franchising, know-how and intellectual property rights transfer agreements and prosecuting and/or defending infringement, passing off, expungement and opposition proceedings on trademarks, industrial designs, patents, utility models, plant breeders’ rights and copyright.

Advised Safepak and Bata Kenya on merits of defending an action to expunge its registered design and trade mark respectively, advising Red Lands Roses on Copyright protection of its various softwares, advising Amref Health Africa on ownership dispute of a domain name.
