Omar Samji is a partner in the Houston office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. His practice covers the spectrum of energy technologies, with a focus on the commercialization of advanced geothermal, long-term energy storage, and Small Modular Reactor nuclear technologies.
Omar represents energy companies and investors in equity and debt investments, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and project development. He advises clients on the acquisition, financing, and development of low- and zero-carbon energy projects, specifically targeting the increased baseload power generation required to meet AI-driven load growth, electrification, and net-zero goals. Omar joined Gibson Dunn in 2026.
Omar has served on the advisory boards of the Institute for Energy Law and the Texas Journal of Oil, Gas & Energy Law, and on the Energy editorial board of Law360. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Fay School, a member of the Board of Directors of Performing Arts Houston, and the Immediate Past President of the Texas Association of Mediators.
