Thomas is an environmental litigator who tackles large and complex matters across several industries, including oil and gas, aerospace, food and agricultural, real estate, and waste. He has over 20 years of experience advising and litigating all phases of high-profile mass tort litigation matters across various industries, multiple jurisdictions, and involving a wide-range of alleged sources—from benzene, methane, TCE, and DBCP to odor and noise, to name a few. Thomas has experience defending against wildfire claims, recently obtaining a complete dismissal of claims brought by approximately 1,200 plaintiffs stemming from the Woolsey Fire in Southern California. He also litigates upstream oil and gas issues, most recently completing a months-long jury trial. Thomas leverages his litigation experience to provide strategic counseling on best practices to navigate through a variety of federal, state and local laws and regulations, including issues before the California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM), Regional and State Water Boards, and South Coast Air Quality Management District.
