Practice Areas
Clients turn to Olivier Mélédo for his nearly 20 years of experience in the area of energy, projects and infrastructure and his dealmaking mindset.
Olivier advises large corporations, investment funds and other equity investors, multilateral development banks, national governments, project sponsors and construction contractors on their most complex and large-scale international and domestic projects; and their related share and asset deals. Over the years, he has also been regularly involved in the litigation or resolution of major disputes involving such assets.
In addition to France and overseas territories, Olivier serves clients across several other jurisdictions. He has, in particular, helped clients navigate transactions and projects in almost all 17 Sub-Saharan African states subject to the civil law-based OHADA's set of regulations. Clients also turn to him for counsel in regions such as Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa.
Olivier is a board member and secretary general of the French Association for Energy Law (AFDEN). He also regularly acts as pro bono counselor to non-profit organizations and is an advisor on energy and natural resources-related topics to the Harvard Law and International Development Society (LIDS), which produces research for NGOs.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown in 2016, Olivier worked in the Paris, London and New York offices of other leading international law firms.
