Practice Areas
Olivier Mélédo is global co-head of the Africa Practice and a partner in the Global Energy and Projects & Infrastructure groups at Mayer Brown, based in Paris. He focuses on complex, large-scale transactions in the energy, infrastructure, and natural resources sectors, with particular emphasis on projects involving France, Africa, and other emerging markets.
With nearly 20 years of experience, Olivier brings a deal-oriented, multidisciplinary approach to advising clients across the full project lifecycle—from project development and structuring to financing, execution, and dispute resolution. His transactional practice often includes share and asset acquisitions and disposals related to major infrastructure and energy projects.
Olivier advises a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including multinational corporations, investment funds, project sponsors, multilateral development banks, sovereign entities, and construction contractors. His experience representing both public and private sector clients gives him a nuanced understanding of the legal and commercial priorities on all sides of a deal.
He serves as Board Member and Secretary General of the French Association for Energy Law (AFDEN), and regularly provides pro bono counsel to NGOs. He has also advised on energy and natural resource matters for the Harvard Law and International Development Society (LIDS).
