Nikolay represents corporations and governments in anti-dumping, safeguard, and anti-subsidy cases before EU institutions as well as before the investigating authorities of Brazil, China, India, the United States, and other countries. His experience covers all stages of the proceedings, from preparing complaints and questionnaire responses to challenging measures before the courts. Nikolay has been involved in several high-profile WTO disputes, providing assistance to governments as well as private sector.

In his sanctions and export controls practice, Nikolay helps clients develop and implement internal policies as well as comply with sanction regulations on a day-to-day basis. He assists with applications before the national competent authorities and also acts in sanctions-related internal investigations and disputes brought before the national courts and international tribunals.

Clients turn to Nikolay for advice on customs matters, in particular with regard to the classification of imported products and their origin. Nikolay assists with applications for autonomous tariff suspension, binding tariff classification, and binding origin information. He also leads internal investigations into customs compliance matters.

Nikolay advises on ESG-related matters including the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), deforestation regulation, the prohibition of products made by forced labour, and supply chains due diligence. Clients also seek Nikolay’s assistance under the Foreign Subsidies Regulation, Critical Raw Materials Act, and Taxonomy Regulation.

In addition to his native Russian, Nikolay speaks English and Spanish.
