Oliver was called to the Bar in 2011. He is highly experienced and skilled counsel in both private and social housing litigation. He also has a busy commercial litigation practice.
Oliver typically represents landlords and local authorities, by whom he is highly sought after, in claims for possession, injunctions and remedies pursuant to the ASBCPA 2014. He also makes a point of being available to local community advice and law centres to ensure access to representation for the vulnerable.
Oliver has particular expertise in complex possession proceedings and claims involving anti-social behaviour. He is regularly instructed by local authorities and housing associations to deal with cases involving violence, drugs, technical arguments and Equality Act defences.
Clients instruct Oliver for his clarity in advice, his approachability and his thorough approach. His advocacy style is robust, clear and precise, which lends itself to contested trials.
