Nicola T Hanna

Nick co-chairs the firm’s global White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice Group. His practice focuses on representing corporations and individuals in high-stakes civil litigation, white collar crime, and regulatory and securities enforcement, including internal investigations, False Claims Act cases, special committee representations, and compliance counseling. He has significant experience handling FCPA matters with both DOJ and the SEC and has conducted sensitive cross-border internal investigations around the globe.

Nick has more than 30 years’ experience, including over 11 years with the DOJ. Most recently, Nick served from 2018-2021 as the Presidentially appointed and Senate confirmed United States Attorney for the Central District of California in Los Angeles. In that capacity, Nick was the chief federal law enforcement officer for the most populous federal district in the country, supervising almost 300 federal prosecutors and representing the United States in all criminal, civil, national security and tax matters. During his tenure, Nick oversaw some of the most significant public corruption, fraud, money laundering, cybercrime, economic espionage, and civil rights cases in the country.
