Megan Baroni has extensive experience counseling clients on a wide variety of environmental, health, and safety issues. She frequently represents manufacturers and distributors and is a contributing author to Robinson+Cole's Manufacturing Law Blog, focusing on environmental, health, and safety trends that will impact the industry. Megan is a trusted advisor on complex environmental compliance issues, including the investigation, remediation, and redevelopment of contaminated properties; chemical and waste management associated with business operations; management of contaminated building materials; and risk management in crisis situations. When disputes arise, Megan is a zealous advocate, working hand-in-hand with our clients to effectively manage and ultimately resolve them. Her deep understanding of the science at work in environmental cases helps make her truly knowledgeable about the issues at hand. She commonly works with experts in the field to develop a comprehensive strategy to support clients’ goals and objectives. Megan frequently counsels clients on health and safety compliance in connection with their business operations. She helps clients develop and review health and safety plans and procedures, counsels them through self-audits, and assists with the inspection process. Megan also represents and defends clients before the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), evaluating alleged occupational health and safety violations and defending against OSHA citations. In her transactional practice, Megan helps clients evaluate, manage, and limit environmental risk associated with business and property transactions. She manages due diligence, working with environmental consultants to identify known risks as well as design a plan to investigate the unknown. Megan is a keen negotiator, and with an understanding of her client’s objectives, she negotiates the allocation of environmental liability with an eye toward finding solutions to close the deal.
