Matthew Sanders

Matthew Sanders is an associate in the firm’s Business Law Group in Toronto and is a key member of the firm’s national Cannabis Law Group. Matthew has experience advising both public and private clients in the global cannabis industry with a wide range of matters, including M&A transactions, corporate finance transactions, joint ventures and strategic alliances, and other complex commercial arrangements. He also has significant experience advising cannabis industry participants in relation to Canadian federal, provincial and municipal regulatory compliance, both in the context of corporate/commercial transactions and general business strategy.

Prior to practising law, Matthew worked in both business and legal capacities with multiple publicly traded licensed cannabis producers. Matthew leverages his institutional experience and knowledge, as well as his industry relationships, to provide the most practical and business-minded advice possible to the firm’s clients and to create new business opportunities.
