Matthew Kraemer is a partner in McCarthy Tétrault’s National Tax Group in Calgary and serves as the Tax Group Regional Practice Lead. He advises clients on complex corporate tax planning, domestic and cross-border public reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, tax disputes and other business-critical tax matters. Matthew brings a practical, business-minded approach to highly technical tax issues, helping clients navigate complexity with clear advice and creative, actionable solutions. His experience spans a broad range of industries, including energy and infrastructure, oil and gas, resources, technology and renewable energy, giving him strong insight into the commercial and sector-specific issues that shape his clients’ tax strategies.
Matthew was called to the Alberta bar in 2008 and the British Columbia bar in 2009.
Matthew is the past chair of the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters Calgary and Area.
