A criminal, extradition and licensing barrister, also an expert in all aspects of law relating to firearms. Prosecutes and defends in serious criminal cases (currently defending charges of torture brought under Universal Jurisdiction). Acts at first instance and on appeal in extradition cases. Instructed in complex and high profile inquests, particularly those involving fatal shootings (recently represented the MPS "Flying Squad" Silver Commander at an inquest into a double shooting at Chandlers Ford, and the MPS "Trident" Tactical Firearms Commander in the inquest into the death of Mark Duggan). Representing the Metropolitan Police Service in the inquests arising from the terrorist attacks on London Bridge the terrorist attacks on Westminster Bridge and the Palace of Westminster.Regularly instructed to represent accused officers in police disciplinary hearings and appeals. Advises and represents on all matters connected with licensed activities, including gaming, alcohol, regulated entertainment, street trading, firearms and taxis before licensing committees and on appeal to the Magistrates’ Court, the Administrative Court and the Court of Appeal. Clients include licensing authorities, the police, major national pub operators and festivals.
