Practice Areas
Prosecutes and defends fraud and serious crime, and practises across a range of regulatory areas. A CPS grade 4 serious crime, fraud and RASSO prosecutor and on the Regulatory ‘A’ list. His cases in 2022 included prosecuting an election fraud and defending in a substantial insider trading prosecution brought by the FCA, due to be re-tried in 2023.
Represents police officers from forces nationwide in performance and misconduct proceedings, criminal trials and inquests, and also represents police forces and officers in relation to inquests. He represented GMP in the Manchester Arena Public Inquiry between 2020 and 2022. Other specializations include the full range of Licensing work for applicants, appellants, local authorities and police; advising Police forces, the NCA and regulatory authorities across a range of regulatory and criminal areas; acting in judicial review proceedings for individual officers, the IOPC and the NCA; advising in matters arising from the Gambling Act 2005; appearing on behalf of casinos in applications for freezing injunctions in the High Court; appearing in judicial review claims on behalf of claimant, defendant, and interested parties. He increasingly advises and appears in matters arising from requests for Mutual assistance in criminal matter
