Career
Mark specialises in all types of finance and is well known for his extensive fund finance practice. He is part of Ogier's multi-disciplinary Private Equity team and has significant experience in representing both borrowers and lenders (including major financial institutions, alternative lenders, sponsors, private equity funds and hedge funds) in all types of fund financing products to include subscription line facilities, NAV facilities, GP and management fee facilities, margin lending, fund-of-fund financings and derivative based structures. He has extensive experience in the field of structured finance and advises on a variety of structures including CLOs (including synthetic CLOs), securitisations, warehouse lending, repo-lending, repackagings, risk retentions and asset-based lending.
He also has a wide range of experience in asset finance and regularly advises on aviation and shipping finance matters. Expertise includes secured lendings over Cayman registered corporate jets and private yachts and the use of Cayman SPVs.
In addition to the above, Mark has extensive expertise in advising on debt listings on the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange both on “Eurobond” listings and specialist debt listings.
Before joining Ogier in 2008, he worked as an in-house lawyer at Bank of Scotland Corporate in London.
He received his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, in 2000 and his Diploma in Legal Practice from Glasgow Graduate School of Law in 2001.
