María Teresa Borja

María Teresa concentrates her practice on high-profile domestic and international dispute resolution. Specifically, she focuses on international investment and commercial arbitration as well as administrative law disputes. She has represented clients in arbitrations under ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC, CAM Santiago, Mercosur Court of International Arbitration, and IACAC rules.

She has extensive experience in construction cases, mining, joint ventures, international investment arbitration, domestic arbitration, civil and commercial law agreements and energy law.

María Teresa worked for the Office of the Attorney General in Ecuador, where she was on the team that defended the Republic of Ecuador in various arbitration proceedings, including case PCA No. 2009-23. María Teresa was also a foreign associate at Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría in Santiago, Chile where she was part of the international arbitration team.
