Career
Marc McLaren-Caux is a Partner in the Canadian office of Cassidy Levy Kent. Mr. McLaren-Caux’s litigation and advisory practice is on focused on public procurement, trade remedies, and Federal regulatory law. He has appeared at all levels of Canada’s superior and federal courts, the Canada Border Services Agency, and the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, representing both private and public sector clients in complex first instance and appeal proceedings.
Mr. McLaren-Caux has been involved in several of the largest procurement disputes in Canadian history. He is the youngest lawyer recognized in Chambers Canada and Legal 500 in the field of public procurement, where he is ranked as a leading lawyer and a “rising star.” Mr. McLaren-Caux strives to distill and communicate complex issues to clients and decision-makers alike and has obtained successful outcomes for clients in a wide range of sectors.
Prior to joining Cassidy Levy Kent, Mr. McLaren-Caux clerked in Canada’s Federal Court, where he gained significant experience in federal administrative law and judicial review processes. Before re-joining Cassidy Levy Kent in early 2017, he practiced for over two years in a specialized litigation firm in Toronto advising and appearing as lead counsel in numerous proceedings before an administrative tribunal and Ontario’s Divisional Court.
Mr. McLaren-Caux holds a J.D. from the University of Ottawa, with a concentration in the International Law Program, having received several academic awards and prevailed as a winner of the world’s largest moot court competition, the Vis.
