Beth's practice encompasses a wide range of corporate and securities law matters in addition to competition and foreign investment matters. In her corporate and securities practice, Beth advises in respect of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, corporate governance and continuous disclosure compliance. She also assists clients with general corporate and commercial matters. In her Competition Act and Investment Canada Act practice, Beth regularly advises both domestic and foreign clients engaged in mergers, joint ventures and other forms of strategic alliances in connection with the notification and clearance provisions of the Competition Act and the Investment Canada Act. She also advises clients in connection with conspiracy and other criminal provisions of the Competition Act and potentially anticompetitive business practices.
Prior to practising law, Beth worked as an officer in the Mergers Branch of the Competition Bureau for two and a half years assessing mergers under the Competition Act. She was admitted to the Alberta bar in 1998.
