Luis A. Nicolau joined the firm in 1990 and has been a partner since 1992.

Widely recognized as a leading lawyer in Mexico, he has played a prominent role in some of the country’s most sophisticated capital markets transactions, representing issuers and underwriters in domestic and international debt and equity offerings. His practice also includes high-profile public and private mergers and acquisitions across a broad range of industries, advising companies, private equity funds, and financial institutions.

Luis has advised many of the world’s leading financial institutions on establishing their operations in Mexico, as well as FinTech companies on regulatory matters and authorization processes.

He gained international experience as an associate at former Shearman & Sterling in New York and Johnson & Gibbs in Dallas. He currently serves on the boards of several Mexican companies.
