Ljiljana is a litigation and international trade law partner in Toronto. In her litigation practice, she represents companies in contentious, high-stakes disputes, with a particular focus on shareholder and securities disputes, fraud investigations, class actions and procurement matters. She has significant experience in fiduciary and breach of trust issues, and particular expertise in commercial and shareholder disputes involving trust and estate law issues, including high net worth family disputes, and other matters involving family offices.
Ljiljana also helps international and domestic clients navigate the dynamic landscape of international trade and sanctions regulations. She brings her strengths in advocacy and incisive, solutions-focussed approach to bear in her trade law practice, which centres on enforcement and compliance matters relating to economic sanctions, tariffs, and trade and export controls, as well as investment treaty arbitration.
Professional Memberships
Ljiljana serves on the Securities Proceedings Advisory Committee of the Ontario Securities Commission and as the Chair of the CBA International Law section. She has previously served as Chair and Past Chair of the OBA International Law section, and has been an active member of the OBA’s Civil Litigation section executive. She is also a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Advocates’ Society.

Ljiljana is a frequent writer on developments regarding shareholder disputes, international trade law, and international arbitrations.
Personal
Ljiljana maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing on providing legal assistance to individuals and organizations where it can have the greatest impact. She was recognized by the 2024 Canadian Law Awards for this work. In acknowledgment of her contributions to advancing equality for LGBTQ2+ communities, she has also received the Canadian Bar Association’s Sexual and Gender Diversity Alliance (SAGDA) Ally Award and the Laleh Moshiri Ally Award.
