Lisa Melanson

Lisa Melanson is an IP partner in the firm’s Toronto office and head of the patent strategy and regulatory exclusivity initiative. With a unique combination of U.S. and Canadian litigation, prosecution, and regulatory experience, Lisa has become a pioneer of strategic practice at the complex intersection of intellectual property and drug regulation.

Lisa's full-service practice spans the range of IP protection, from patents and designs to trademarks and trade secrets, and covers all phases of the product life cycle. She has almost 30 years of experience managing global IP portfolios, defending and enforcing IP rights, advising on IP licensing and commercialization matters, supporting corporate transactions, and strategizing to protect technologies from competition and genericization. Lisa has particular expertise advising pharma clients on strategies and issues that engage the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations and the Certificate of Supplementary Protection Regulations.
