Laura-May is a counsel in Reed Smith’s Global Commercial Disputes Group. As an experienced litigator, she has worked on a range of commercial disputes representing global companies (predominantly Banks) on claims at the pre-action stage to trial. She has experience acting for claimants and defendants and has worked on numerous cases before the English Court (in the High Court and Court of Appeal).

Laura-May is a member of the Insurance Recovery Group at Reed Smith. She acts for policyholders in a range of disputes with insurers. Laura-May has represented clients in both arbitration and court proceedings and has particular experience in coverage disputes involving finance insurance, marine cargo insurance, directors’ and officers’ insurance and trade credit insurance. Laura-May also routinely advises companies on insurance policy arrangements. Laura-May is regularly ranked in Chambers UK and Legal 500 UK for insurance litigation.

Laura-May also advises companies dealing with a broad range of regulatory and compliance issues and has represented financial institutions and individuals in contentious regulatory proceedings before the Financial Conduct Authority.
