Lara is McCarthy Tetrault’s Industry Strategy Leader, responsible for leading the firm and its people to truly understand and align with our clients and their industries. As Leader of our Retail and Consumer Markets Group, Lara is a trusted advisor to consumer-facing companies looking to establish or grow in the Canadian market. She advises global companies entering Canada (through M&A, e-commerce, bricks and mortar or a combination) on their market entry strategies and related legal issues and more recently advises clients on response to COVID-19 and navigating reopening and recovery across jurisdictions. She excels at negotiating mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations and commercial matters for consumer facing businesses. Lara provides well-informed guidance on multifaceted strategic and operational issues, including domestic and global expansion, COVID-19 response, mitigation and recovery. Lara recently advised on transactions for Home Depot and Nestle, and on Nordstrom and LL Bean’s expansions into Canada.
