Whether leading a transaction, managing due diligence or providing legal guidance, Katy is resourceful, efficient and thorough to achieve the best results for her clients.
Practical solutions through organized, strategic counsel
Prior to joining Katten, Katy spent two years in-house as a Legal Fellow at a Chicago-based, U.S. News' top ranked health system where she learned how to provide practical solutions that align with strategic objectives, while navigating complex risk during unprecedented circumstances. Since joining Katten, Katy has provided strategic corporate and regulatory guidance to a variety of health care industry players conducting complex transactions, including national management organizations, physician practices and health systems. In addition, Katy advises clients on complex regulatory matters involving the Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, and other compliance matters including reimbursement and billing, the corporate practice of medicine and licensing.
Katy is an active leader in both national and local professional associations. She is also the recipient of the ABA Health Law Section's Emerging Young Lawyer in Healthcare award for her commitment to that leadership. During her Fellowship, Katy was appointed Adjunct Instructor to the health system's Health System Management program where Katy co-instructed a health care law and ethics course to aspiring health care administrators.
