Kamil Shields

Kamil Shields is a member of the Firm’s Criminal Defense and Investigations Group and a partner in the Firm’s Litigation Group. A former federal prosecutor, she advises multinational companies and senior executives on high-stakes investigations, enforcement actions and other crisis situations involving significant legal, regulatory and reputational risk, with a particular focus on corruption-related allegations, consumer protection and financial fraud. Kamil frequently manages parallel investigations and proceedings across multiple authorities, including the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, state attorneys general and Congressional committees, as well as related civil litigation. She also advises on the design and enhancement of corporate compliance programs, including with respect to implementation of oversight and governance structures and whistleblowing procedures. Kamil served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Columbia, where she was a member of the Fraud and Public Corruption section, acting as lead prosecutor in 13 jury trials. She received several special achievement awards for her accomplishments in the Office. Since her return to private practice, Kamil has represented clients in jury and bench trials in civil and criminal contexts across a range of practice areas.
