Julian has handled a broad range of cases at the appellate and trial court levels, in federal and state courts across the country, including several major class actions, as well as other complex commercial litigation. His first-chair appellate experience includes presenting oral argument to the Third, Ninth, Eleventh, D.C., and Federal Circuits, and to the California Supreme Court and Courts of Appeal.
Julian serves as one of the nationwide co-chairs of our firm’s Appellate & Constitutional Law Practice Group. Appointed by the Chief Justice of California to the Judicial Council’s Advisory Committee on Civil Jury Instructions, 2012, 2015, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2025. He was a law clerk to Justice Antonin Scalia, U.S. Supreme Court, and to Judge J. Michael Luttig, formerly of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
