Joseph Ostoyich recently completed two terms as member of the firm’s Executive Committee and previously served as Chair of the Washington, D.C. Litigation Department. He has thirty years of experience representing some of the world’s leading corporations in bet-the-company class action and competitor price fixing and monopolization cases, and has tried a number of cases to verdict. He regularly advises on civil merger and non-merger, and criminal investigations, by the DOJ, FTC, European Commission and government authorities worldwide.
He recently led the trial team against the FTC defending a leading distributor of dental equipment and supplies. Victories include an administrative defense verdict as lead trial counsel in In re McWane, Inc., a $0 verdict in federal court, summary judgment in a case alleging a decade-long conspiracy to fix natural gas prices, and defeating class certification in a significant monopolization and conspiracy case.
