Provided by Joseph A Ostoyich
Joe Ostoyich is the head of Clifford Chance’s US Antitrust Litigation practice. He has been lead counsel in dozens of bet-the-company class action and individual price fixing, monopolization, merger challenges and other antitrust matters, and his trial prowess has earned him recognition for “excellence among American litigation and trial counsel.”
Over the course of his career, he has represented companies across a wide range of economic sectors, including agricultural commodities, consumer products, energy and infrastructure, financial services, food and beverage, tech, telecommunications, industrials, and pharmaceuticals. His clients have included Ashland, AT&T, BHP Billiton, Brown Forman, Caterpillar, Colfax, Eaton, Energy Transfer, Exxon Mobil, Imperial Chemical Industries, Intel, Olin, MeadWestvaco, Total, WestRock, and Woodside.
Joe is a Fellow of two invitation-only legal societies: the Litigation Counsel of America, a trial lawyer honor organization limited to 3,500 lawyers (<0.5%) nationwide, and the American Bar Foundation, for the top 1% of academics, judges and practitioners in the District of Columbia. He was one of only ten lawyers nominated as Litigator of the Year in the Global Competition Review (2020), has been a BTI Client All-Star, and has been recognized for many years as a leading antitrust litigator, in Chambers, Who’s Who Legal (Competition) on Lexology (co-branded with GCR) (2024), Lawdragon 500 (2025), The Legal 500 US, Martindale-Hubbell, and D.C. Super Lawyers.
