José Ramón is co-founder of Consortium Legal - Honduras with more than 48 years of experience. He is Executive Director and partner of the firm. His specialties are Banking and Finance, Corporate Affairs, Corporate Finance, International Financial Transactions and Mergers and Acquisitions.

During his experience he has participated in large financial transactions, involved with both national and international multinational banks. He was a substitute judge of the Supreme Court of Justice of Honduras, has participated in cross-border financial transactions for amounts ranging from US$ 30.0 Million to US$ 1,700.0 Million, involving international banks and local and regional borrowers, and has structured guarantees through trusts within some of those transactions, also in has participated in cross-border mergers and acquisitions for amounts ranging from US$ 50.0 Million to US$ 650.0 Million between foreign acquirers and local sellers.

• He advises the largest private hydro-energy project in Honduras, Energías Limpias del Yaguala, this is the largest loan transaction ever funded 100% solely by Honduran financial entities.

• Assisted Banco Lafise Honduras in connection with the negotiation and preparation of guarantee and administration trusts in two loan and real estate development transactions. Banco Lafise Honduras belongs to a financial group with operations in several jurisdictions.

• Participated in the corporate restructuring of Grupo Karim’s, a Honduras-based multinational entity which is the largest industrial parks operator in the country.

• Participated in the Compañía Azucarera Tres Valles, S.A. (CATV) expansion, handling the negotiation of a long-term lease of a substantial amount of land for the production of sugar cane. CATV is one of the largest sugar mills in Honduras.
