He has headed the Commercial Law Department at various national law firms and is currently a partner in Commercial Law at CECA MAGÁN Abogados and Head of its Insolvency and Restructuring Department.
He has advised numerous companies on corporate matters, serving as secretary to various boards of directors and advising on all types of corporate transactions (capital increases and reductions, amendments to bylaws, structural changes, formation of joint ventures, dissolution and liquidation, etc.) and corporate disputes, as well as on corporate governance matters for some of the leading companies listed on the IBEX-35.
He has also advised on M&A transacctions, both on the buyer's and seller's side, in all phases (NDA, Due Diligence, LoI/TS, SPA, SHA, etc.).
In the area of restructuring and insolvency, he has advised numerous companies, both debtors and creditors, leading bankruptcy proceedings and acting in many cases as the role of insolvency administrator and, above all, since the 2022 reform of the spanich Insolvency Act, he has stood out for his performance as an expert in preventive restructuring processes as legal advisor to debtors, financial creditors (funds and credit institutions), as well as in the role of independent restructuring expert. He has also led challenges to restructuring plans, obtaining some of the most significant spanish rulings in recent years.
He has also participated in financing operations and banking matters, both transactional and litigious (arbitrations), as well as, from an academic point of view, directing highly relevant research and collective publications on the European Banking Union and Bank Resolution over the last 10 years.
In the three areas mentioned above, he has published numerous articles, book chapters, and monographs, and regularly appears in the specialized press and media as an expert voice on these matters. In this regard, his regular newsletter, published on LinkedIn titled “Píldoras Mercantiles” (Commercial Pills), has had a particular impact, with more than 100 posts published since February 2023 and more than 4,200 subscribers.
