Road transport law covering goods and passenger carriage. Extensive experience in public inquiries involving matters such as maintenance, drivers' hours, bus reliability and environmental objections, serious transport related crime i.e. causing death by dangerous driving, manslaughter, smuggling, customs and excise prosecutions, health and safety prosecutions. Other cases arising out of road transport include VAT and duties tribunal appeals, employment disputes, inquests, police interviews evolving out of road traffic investigations or serious road traffic accidents. Provides advice on compliance with the regulatory framework of operator licensing including advising on business structure, set-up and mergers and acquisitions. Handles a wide range of commercial disputes involving both domestic and international transportation of goods.
The Law Society, practice membership of the RHA, FTA, CPT and Portable Sanitation Europe.
Contributes articles on a regular basis to transport journals on aspects of regulatory compliance and provides regular answers to readers’ questions in the transport press. Delivers in excess of 80 bespoke training seminars a year to both goods and passenger transport clients and trade associations.
