Commercial transport law including defending prosecutions brought by the Vehicle Inspectorate, Police and Trading Standards, Environment Agency, Health & Safety Executive. Operators and vocational licensing including public inquiries involving tachograph, environmental, maintenance and financial issues, health and safety and environmental protection issues including transportation of radioactive goods. Has lectured on references to the European Courts of Justice and involved in two such references to the ECJ. Experience before VAT & Duties Tribunal including the rebated diesel cases. Advises members of the Road Haulage Association, Confederation of Passenger Transport and Freight Transport Association. Has specific experience in road transport aspects of passenger vehicle operation. Has advised government appointed consultants regarding new regulations for motorway management and is widely respected as an authority on drivers’ hours, driver training and working time issues.
