John Warrington

John is an experienced criminal practitioner, regularly instructed in complex and document-heavy, multi-handed cases of the utmost gravity for the defence and prosecution. His practice encompasses a broad range of offending, including homicide, serious violence, large-scale drug trafficking, people trafficking, serious organised crime, firearms, public order, dishonesty and sexual offences.

John has defended members of some of the most prolific organised crime groups in the country. In particular, he has extensive experience in white-collar crime, including serious fraud, money laundering, bribery, corruption and all aspects of related restraint and confiscation proceedings. In this regard, John has been retained to advise pre-charge in the course of a number of high-profile investigations and has acted in complex applications for production orders and multi-million-pound confiscation proceedings.

John has been appointed to the CPS serious crime, fraud and proceeds of crime panels and the list of Specialist Regulatory Advocates in health and safety and environmental law.

John has a busy professional disciplinary and regulatory practice, with an emphasis on healthcare, legal services, utilities, haulage, health and safety and the environment. He is often retained by large companies that are liable to seven-figure fines.

John is currently acting as counsel to a high-profile public inquiry. He is direct access qualified and an advocacy tutor with Lincoln’s Inn.
