John has significant experience acting for claimants, defendants and their insurers across the range of personal injury claims.
The subject matter of claims includes accidents at work including factories, oilrigs, workshops, shops & offices; Occupational disease including asbestos related conditions; Road traffic accidents involving heavy goods vehicles, cars and motorbikes; Employment & holiday accidents abroad whilst on-land and on-ship.
Instructions include injuries resulting in Brain injury, Cerebral palsy and Spinal injuries of the utmost severity; Chronic pain, Amputation and Complex injuries resulting in lifetime care & therapy, adaptive housing and ancillary services. John undertakes CICA claims of the utmost severity, concerning nervous shock and Fatal accidents.
John’s practice includes insurance coverage and other technical issues related to personal injury claims. These include the cascade of liability of contractual insurer, RTA s.151 insurer, Article 75 and the MIB in relation to claims in the UK and in Europe, liability arising within the workplace and compulsory insurance pursuant to Employers' Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Act 1969, the liability of landlords to tenants by reason of the Defective Premises Act 1972 & Landlord & Tenant Act 1980 s.11, and recoveries in insolvency situations pursuant to the Third Parties (Rights against Insurers) Act 2010.
John presents seminars on specialist subjects within the personal injury context including insurance law and road traffic accidents in the UK and abroad, and on consumer and commercial insurance.
