He works nationally, and has appeared on both sides of the docket in some 200 homicide cases.

His cases include some of the most complex and notorious murder trials heard in recent years.

He has a particular expertise in representing children and young people charged with serious offences. Within the last year alone he has represented a child of 12 years of age charged with murder, and has also represented several teenage clients facing offences of the utmost gravity.

Paul has also developed a strong practice in the law relating to agriculture and fisheries, and recently secured the complete acquittal of a large company charged with numerous egg marketing offences.

He has sat as a Recorder of the Crown Court since 2000, and is a former Leader of the Wales and Chester Circuit.

He is Head of Chambers at Farrar’s Building, and a Bencher of Gray’s Inn.
