Joaquín is a senior associate and member of the compliance and criminal Law practice. He specializes on dispute resolution and compliance, where he has represented companies and individuals in a wide range of cases related to criminal law.

His experience and knowledge are particularly noteworthy in the context of the recently enacted Economic Crimes Law, assisting clients in making informed decisions in light of the legal challenges arising from this legislation. In addition to his specialisation in criminal law, Joaquín also has extensive experience in civil and commercial disputes. He has consistently provided ongoing and preventive advice to a broad range of domestic and foreign clients, successfully representing them before both arbitral and ordinary courts of justice.

His profound knowledge of criminal law and expertise has enabled him to design effective strategies in complex cases, providing his clients with a competitive advantage. Furthermore, Joaquín has worked with clients from diverse industries and of varying sizes, advising them on matters related to the prevention of economic crimes, internal investigations, and their defence in legal proceedings and complex litigation.

Joaquín was an associate in the litigation and arbitration team at Guerrero Olivos from 2017 to 2019. He later worked as an associate in two law firms specializing in litigation and criminal advisory.

In the academic field, Joaquín is an assistant professor in the Criminal Procedural Law department at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and has also been a research assistant at the same university.
