Jo Cunningham

Jo is a partner of Maples and Calder’s Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group’s Cayman Islands office. Jo acts for a range of investment advisers, from start-up managers to some of the most sophisticated, institutional asset managers across a broad spectrum of asset classes. She advises on all aspects of Cayman Islands hedge, credit and private equity funds and is regularly instructed to advise on complex fund and upper-tier reorganisations, including for spin outs, manager acquisitions and succession planning.

Jo joined the Maples Group in 2007. Prior to this, she established a successful practice at the Commercial Bar in London, where she was consistently ranked by legal directories as a leading barrister in her field. Jo has spoken at a number of industry conferences and regularly contributes to publications on fund-related matters. She was part of a small group that was instrumental in the establishment of the Cayman Islands Chapter of 100 Women in Finance and served as the initial co-chair of the Chapter.
