Jeff Kapp practices in the area of health care transactions and has more than 30 years of experience representing hospitals, academic medical centers and health systems in mergers and acquisitions, as well as various unique and innovative joint ventures, affiliations and service line transactions. He represents clients in strategic transactions, such as hospital affiliations, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, academic affiliations, distressed and restructuring transactions, and contractual arrangements. Jeff also represents clients in transactions involving ambulatory surgery centers, freestanding emergency departments, hospice and home health services, and federally qualified health centers. He also guides clients through physician contracting matters, including, employment, medical director, hospital-based physician services, co-management, and recruitment agreements. Jeff also counsels client on wide variety of health care regulatory matters, including Medicare fraud and abuse and Stark Law compliance, tax-exempt organization rules, HIPAA's privacy and security regulations, security breach notification laws, and other general health law issues.
