Jaqueline is a Senior Associate in Mattos Filho’s Technology, Data Protection & Cybersecurity and Intellectual Property practices. She advises leading multinational companies on complex regulatory and contractual matters involving data protection, artificial intelligence, digital platforms, intellectual property, cybersecurity, technology transactions, and innovation projects.

Her practice encompasses both advisory and contentious work, including regulatory investigations, litigation strategy, compliance programs, cross-border data transfers, licensing arrangements, technology development agreements, and the structuring of research, development and innovation (R&D&I) initiatives.

Jaqueline has been actively involved in leading cases before the Brazilian Data Protection Agency (ANPD) since its inception, advising clients on some of the agency’s most relevant investigations and regulatory discussions. This experience provides her with a comprehensive understanding of the agency’s evolving interpretation and enforcement approach.

Before joining Mattos Filho, Jaqueline worked at a leading intellectual property law firm and at the International Affairs Department of the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL), where she gained significant experience in international privacy and regulatory matters.

She is a visiting professor of Intellectual Property and Innovation at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and teaches International Data Protection Law in postgraduate programs at the Institute of Technology and Society (ITS Rio) and the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). She is frequently invited to speak at conferences and industry events on artificial intelligence, data protection, digital regulation, and intellectual property.

Jaqueline is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Law and Regulation at FGV Rio, focusing on the regulation of innovation. She holds a Master’s degree (with honours) in Law and Technology from Université Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas, as an Eiffel Excellence Scholarship recipient, and a law degree from the Federal Fluminense University (UFF).

She is a member of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) Brazil, and of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Brazilian Institute for Competition, Consumption and International Trade Studies (IBRAC).

Jaqueline’s academic background and professional experience span multiple areas of law and jurisdictions, providing her with a broad and interdisciplinary perspective on complex regulatory, tech and innovation-related matters.
