James Sarven Williams

Jim Williams is a shareholder in Dentons Birmingham, Alabama office, where he is a member of the Litigation practice group, leads the Insurance Litigation team and previously served six terms on the Firm’s Board of Directors/Executive Committee. Jim also chairs the Firm’s Recruitment Committee. Now in his thirty-fifth year at the Firm, Jim handles civil litigation, with a particular focus on insurance claims litigation; insurance coverage disputes; banking, investment and financial institution litigation; construction litigation; trust, estate, and probate litigation; shareholder oppression and derivative lawsuits; and all forms of commercial litigation on behalf of individuals and businesses. Jim handles matters throughout the country. He also handles appeals in state and federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court. Jim is licensed in Alabama and Georgia.
