Jim has been based in Asia since May 2000. He has advised on development, financing, construction, operation, and mergers and acquisitions transactions for power and hospitality projects. Among notable transactions are development and construction of the award-winning 600 MW Monsoon Wind project in Lao PDR to sell power to EVN in Vietnam; development and construction of the supercritical San Buenaventura project in the Philippines; investment by a NYSE-listed private equity firm in the Maha Nakhon high-rise mixed-use project in Thailand; development of a potential 1,250 MW LNG to power facility in the Philippines; development of a 70 MW wind project in the Philippines; development and construction of the 78 MW Natural Energy Development solar project in Thailand; and several generation and transmission projects in Cambodia. He has also been involved in modern rail development projects in Lao PDR and Thailand.
