Career

Ishan Handa, Partner is part of the Mumbai office. Ishan has over 13 years of experience in banking and finance. He advises and represents Indian and international banks, foreign portfolio investors, and NBFCs in a wide variety of lending transactions, both onshore as well as offshore, including structured finance, sponsor finance, acquisition and leveraged finance, private credit and real estate finance. He also regularly represents global private equity sponsors in acquisition/leveraged financing transactions as well as transactions involving debt raised by their portfolio companies in India.

• Mandated lead arrangers - debt financing (and subsequent refinancing) for KKR’s acquisition of EuroKids International (now Lighthouse Learning)

• KKR - (a) margin financing against units held by it (as a sponsor) in Highways Infrastructure Trust, a listed InvIT (b) acquisition financing for investment in Vini Cosmetics Private Limited (c) refinancing existing debt and raising fresh financing in connection with its acquisition of solar energy assets from Shapoorji Pallonji group (d) margin financing against its shareholding in Max Healthcare Institute Limited (e) acquisition financing for Ness Digital Engineering

• Mandated lead arrangers - leveraged financing to a global private equity firm in connection with its acquisition of a chain of hospitals in India and Bangladesh
