Notable recent cases include: Lloyd v Google (UKSC appeal concerning representative actions and DPA); Dyson v Channel 4 (CA appeal concerning allegations of abuse in Channel 4 broadcast); Wright v Ver (CA appeal concerning jurisdiction in defamation claims); Economou v De Freitas (CA appeal concerning public interest defence); Delo v Wise (claim concerning DSARs and exemptions); Vardy v Rooney (“Wagatha Christie” litigation); Abramovich v HarperCollins (defamation claim in respect of book “Putin’s People”); Duke of Sussex v Splash News (privacy claim about photographs of royal residence); Gubarev v Christopher Steele (libel trial concerning publication of 'Trump Russia' dossier); Hegglin v Google (first UK claim concerning right to be forgotten).
