Howard Weingrad counsels advertising and media companies on all aspects of advertising matters, from the creation to the production and distribution of regional, national and global advertising campaigns. Mr. Weingrad counsels clients for copyright, trademark, unfair competition, music licensing, FTC compliance and other intellectual property issues, including pre-litigation IP and contract dispute resolution. His practice also covers transactional matters, including broadcast and digital advertising production matters, such as negotiating and structuring agreements governing the use of celebrity talent and commercial productions, and advising on all aspects of social media advertising matters. He is one of the country’s leading experts in matters involving the provisions and industry implications of the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists Commercials Contract and other advertising and entertainment industry collective bargaining agreements. Mr. Weingrad often speaks publicly on advertising industry talent, union and music matters, including as a guest lecturer at a Tulane University Music Business class involving the use of music in advertising.
