Hal D. Ungar is a Shareholder in the firm’s New Orleans Office, where he has practiced employment law for more than fifteen years. Hal’s vast experience includes advising and problem solving for employers, and defending employers in a vast range of employment litigation.
Hal has acted as lead counsel on various complex disputes, including, FLSA collective actions, single and multi-plaintiff discrimination litigation (Title VII, ADEA, ADA, FMLA, Whistleblower), non-compete and trade secret matters, USDOL Wage and Hour audits, OSHA whistleblower investigations, unfair trade practice matters, penalty wage claims, non-solicitation of customer and employee agreements, antitrust, confidentiality and proprietary obligations, and issues involving fiduciary and loyalty duties. He has tried and arbitrated matters to jury verdict/award involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, FLSA Wage and Hour, State Penalty Wage, and RICO.
A New Orleans native, Hal is currently the chair of the New Orleans Labor and Employment CLE Committee. Hal is an active member of GiGi’s Playhouse, New Orleans, which provides programming and support for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. During his free time, Hal enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and his German Shepherd “Frank.”
