Career

Giancarlo Schievenini is a Partner at CMS Mexico. He works across various practice areas and currently leads the Corporate and M&A practice group. Giancarlo advises both national and international clients on a broad range of corporate matters, with a strong focus on mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures.

He has extensive experience supporting companies from around the world in developing projects or establishing operations in Mexico — whether through the formation of local subsidiaries, the acquisition of existing businesses, or the creation of joint ventures. His clients include public and private companies in the manufacturing sector, as well as real estate developers and institutional investors.

In recent years, Giancarlo has played a key role in numerous multi-jurisdictional M&A transactions, advising not only on Mexican legal matters but also on broader transactional aspects within cross-border deal structures. His expertise includes structuring and implementing corporate frameworks, as well as negotiating and drafting shareholders’ agreements governing the operation and management of target entities.

As a Partner at CMS, one of the largest international law firms in the world, Giancarlo is regularly involved in complex cross-border transactions.
