Career
Mauricio is a partner at CMS Mexico, where he leads the Life Sciences and Healthcare practice. He advises national and international clients on complex regulatory, compliance, and administrative litigation matters, with practical experience across the full product lifecycle: manufacturing, labelling, import/export, distribution, marketing, and crisis management involving audits or recalls.
With 15 years of experience, he is widely recognized as one of Mexico’s top regulatory lawyers. His background includes senior roles at COFEPRIS and IMSS, as well as leading the Life Sciences practice at a top-tier U.S. law firm in Mexico.
This dual public-private experience enables Mauricio to bridge legal insight with business strategy, offering agile, solution-oriented counsel aligned with clients’ operational needs.
He has a solid academic background studying his Masters (LLM) in Global Health Law at Georgetown University, graduating with a Certificate in Food and Drug Law, previously got his Law Degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City
and attended several diplomas in Harvad Law School, Columbia University, Escuela Libre de Derecho and the CIDE.
Since 2018, Mauricio Gómez has been a professor at Escuela Libre de Derecho, Ciudad de Mexico, on Health Regulations Diploma.
