Associates to watch
Provided by George Shepherd
George is a Senior associate solicitor in the schools and charities team, specialising in governance and transactional work for independent schools and charities. He advises national and local charities on incorporation, mergers, dissolution and other governance issues.
His work also includes dealing with a wide range of charity property transactions including acquisitions, disposals, leases and secured lending.
In his work, he looks to understand the big picture of what his clients are trying to achieve so his advice can be tailored to them. He also seeks to make the application of charity law as straightforward as possible.
He trained as a solicitor with Moore Barlow, gaining experience in commercial property, corporate work and litigation, alongside charity law. Prior to that, he worked in the commercial property sector for a number of years.
Outside work, his wife and he belong to a church in Guildford. He also enjoys playing a number of sports including golf, tennis and cycling.
