George Denegre's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation. In the securities fraud area, he has represented various market participants and their officers and directors in class actions, derivative suits and other litigation. He was deeply involved in several large cases involving complex derivative products arising out of the 2007-2008 financial crises. In recent years he has twice been named a New Orleans Litigation – Securities “Lawyer of the Year" by The Best Lawyers in America. He has significant experience in alternative dispute resolution, both in arbitration and mediation, and he has previously served as a securities arbitrator. Outside of securities litigation, he has handled a wide-range of complex matters in state and federal courts and in arbitration, including professional liability, intellectual property, tax, franchise and unfair trade practices.
George received his Juris Doctor from Tulane University School of Law in 1983 and his B.A. from Tulane University in 1980.
