Personal
Gabriela is Intellectual Property and Technology Director in our Guatemala office. She focuses her practice in providing comprehensive advice to national and international clients including the management of intellectual property portfolios throughout the Latin American region.
With more than 15 years of experience, she advises clients in the protection of their intellectual property rights and management of complex portfolios for multinational and local companies, including the registration of trademarks, oppositions, copyrights, including registration of works and software, development of strategies in civil and criminal litigation, related to the enforcement of intellectual property rights, as well as the negotiation of contracts related to them, among others.
Before joining Dentons Muñoz, she served as a legal advisor to the Trademark Department and the Copyright and Related Rights Department of the Registry of Intellectual Property of Guatemala. She went on to spend six years as the director of the intellectual property department at one of the nation's leading firms.
Additionally, Gabriela has been a professor of intellectual property at two of Guatemala's most prestigious universities, in the faculties of Law, Design and the School of Cinema.
