Career
Flavia focuses her practice on social impact and philanthropy-related matters, advising non-profit organizations across a range of areas, including health, education, culture and the environment, and also supporting companies and families in structuring their private social investments. She is a specialist in structuring civil society organizations and impact businesses, legal consulting for the third sector involving tax, corporate, governance, contracts, and administrative proceedings, always with a focus on social and impactful initiatives. Flavia works with human rights and business, particularly with implementing social criteria within the scope of ESG. One of the pioneers of pro bono work at Mattos Filho, Flavia remains actively engaged in strengthening and developing pro bono culture within the Brazilian legal sector. She is also an officer and co-chair of the International Bar Association (IBA) Pro Bono Committee.
Flavia voluntarily serves as president of the board of trustees at Instituto Pro Bono and as vice-president of the board at Associação de Assistência à Criança Deficiente (AACD). She is also a member of the boards of Fundação Julita and WWF Brazil, a volunteer member of the audit committee of Grupo de Institutos Fundações e Empresas (GIFE) and an advisory board member of Associação Pró Dança. A founding member and advisory board member of both Pacto pela Igualdade Racial and Associação Santa Inclusão (‘Santa Plural’), Flavia is also a coordinator of the Third Sector Law Committee’s Tax Law Sector at the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB-SP).
