Fernando C. Alonso has practiced in the corporate M&A, securities, banking and finance fields for more than 25 years. Mr. Alonso's clients include a broad range of publicly owned and privately held US and foreign companies and financial institutions. Throughout his career, Mr. Alonso has led numerous significant mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other business transactions, including those involving cross-border complexities. His practice involves representation of both financial institutions and companies in connection with their equity and debt financings. He regularly represents foreign clients in connection with acquisitions in the US as well as domestic companies in connection with their international expansion. Mr. Alonso has structured and directed numerous private equity deals, public/private partnerships, privatizations, government contracts and concessions both in the US and Latin America. He has particular experience in the telecommunications, energy and infrastructure sectors.

Received his BA with distinction in history in 1980 from Yale College, graduated summa cum laude and as a member of phi beta kappa, and received his JD in 1983 from the Yale Law School. Served as judicial clerk in US District Court for Southern District of New York.
