Fernando C. Alonso has practiced in the corporate and securities, banking and finance and international fields for more than 25 years. His clients include a broad range of publicly traded and privately held US and foreign companies and financial institutions. Throughout his career, Mr. Alonso has led numerous significant mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other business transactions, including those involving cross-border complexities. He regularly represents foreign clients in connection with US acquisitions, as well as domestic companies with regards to their international expansion. His practice also involves representation of both financial institutions and companies in relation to their equity and debt financings.

Mr. Alonso has structured and directed numerous infrastructure investments and project financings. He has particular experience in renewable energy infrastructure development and finance, as well as in the transportation infrastructure sector.

Career

Chairman of the firm's Latin American and Iberian practice groups. Admitted to practice in Florida, New York and the District of Columbia.

Personal

Received his BA with distinction in history in 1980 from Yale College, graduated summa cum laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and received his JD in 1983 from the Yale Law School. Before commencing his practice, he served as a judicial clerk for the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
